Books we are taking orders for ahead of publication. Reserve your copy now and we will send it as soon as it is released.
How pre-orders work
1. You reserve it
Order the book before it is published. Your card is charged today to hold your copy.
2. It gets published
Each listing shows the publisher's release date. We order from our distributor that day.
3. We ship it
It typically reaches you 5–10 business days after release. You get tracking by email.
Changed your mind?
Cancel any time before it ships for a full refund. No forms, no fuss.
We will not promise you a book on release day. Some sellers do. We order the moment a title is published and ship it as fast as we can, which usually means it lands with you a week or two after the release date. We would rather tell you that plainly than miss a date we set.
Questions
When is my card charged?
Today, when you place the order. That is what reserves your copy. We say so clearly on every pre-order listing so there are no surprises on your statement weeks later.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time before it ships, for a full refund. Email info@sophibooks.com or call (512) 534-0412.
What if the publisher delays the book?
Publication dates move sometimes. If yours does, we will email you with the new date and you can either wait or take a full refund. If the publisher cancels the title outright, we refund you automatically — you do not need to do anything.
Can I order a pre-order alongside books in stock?
Yes, and there is no downside to doing so. Your in-stock books ship straight away and the pre-order follows once it is published — two separate deliveries, with tracking for each. You are never left waiting on one book to receive the rest.
Do I pay shipping twice?
No. You pay shipping once at checkout, however many deliveries your order arrives in.
Why don't pre-orders show in the main catalogue?
So that browsing shows only books you can actually receive this week. Pre-orders live here and in Coming Soon.
